 "Absolutely Love it!!! " 2008-06-23
By njk1981 (Illinois)
I got married 3 years ago and used this to plan my wedding and I absolutely love it. I had about 10 different wedding planners and books that my friends/family bought me but I bought this one for myself and it's superior to all the other planners I had. It included all the info you need to plan your wedding. I disagree with the person who said it went into too much detail about the engagement/shower parties. I had neither of these when I planned my wedding either but I still used everything in this book.

Plus it's small and compact and easy to carry with you when you go shopping and to meet with wedding vendors, etc. Not huge and bulky like almost all the other ones. It also has pockets in the front of each section to store stuff in. I kept all details in it like a wedding CD, copy of my invites, fabric swatches, flower petals, recipts, everthing!! It was perfect. I buy it for all my friends and family who are getting married. That's why I'm writing this review now because I'm buying it for my sister who's getting married in May.

Go ahead...buy it you won't regret it.

 "Informative and very helpful" 2007-07-29

I used this planner as a guide for my wedding. I found the details in each chapter helpful and informative for my planning. There are pockets at each chapter header to allow you to stuff papers, business cards, and the like allowing this to be the only item you'd need to carry around.

Each chapter starts w/ something you can read detailing questions to think about and the best way to handle things like registering for gifts, selecting your officiant, and wedding traditions you may want to include in your ceremonly. At the end of each chapter are pages to keep track of notes, details on vendors you've seen, questions that help you narrow down your choices and a few pages dedicated to questions that allow you to journal your experiences. (Brides are busy and for me, this book covered the basics and more.)

I loved the elastic band that came around the book. It was sturdy enough to keep all my papers and samples in once place while I went throught the decision making & planning processes.

I would recommend this planner for purchase and have given in to multipe friends as engagement gifts.

 "Returned it" 2004-07-12

I'm sure that almost every newly engaged woman goes through this. Their fiance gets down on one knee and lightning fast you're in a store looking for a wedding planner. I quickly flipped through this book and bought it without really thinking.

It focuses a great deal on all of the "pre-wedding" parties such as an engagement party and bridal shower. I don't know about anyone else but 1) I don't plan on having an engagement party and 2) aren't my friends/relatives supposed to plan the bridal shower? I'm returning this one in favor of a planner more focused on weddings.
